FINANCE MANAGER

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7AM-4PM PHT

Arrangement: Full Time

About this role…

To support the key business areas and provide the business with accurate and meaningful information, reports, and information flow. It is imperative that the candidate has strong attention to detail as they need accurate and swift input of data to enable the delivery of financial reports. This role also requires strong analytical skills and a strong understanding of financial principles. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with finance, sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure compliance with pricing strategies, billing accuracy and financial reporting data. Management and responsibility of direct reports and ensuring deliverables are met within the required timeframe

Job Description

  • Manage a team of up to 5 bookkeepers and accountants with potential for team to grow. This includes management and responsibility of all tasks for direct reports and support with development of team members
  • Liaise with shared service function to ensure accounts are maintained, including debtor management
  • Support the Commercial and Operations Financial Manager with various tasks, including ad-hoc requests
  • Support with budget and forecast requirements including data loads into various systems
  • Prepare regular and special management reports as required, including sales production statistics, profit and loss, budget variance analysis, cashflow, balance sheets and capital reporting
  • Ensure all management reports are completed accurately, within set time frames
  • Manage all lease accounting for Vertical Farming
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key processes for continuous improvement
  • Key contact for Vertical Farming half/full year financial audit. Correspond and manage expectations of external auditors. Work with Commercial and Operations Finance Managers to ensure audit requests are responded to in a timely manner
  • Preparation of tax/FBT schedules for Finance Manager review
  • Support with month end requirements, including but not limited to; P&L and cost centre reporting, stocktakes
  • Support with preparation of monthly presentations
  • Fixed Asset/Capex management i.e. project expenditure tracking and asset creations
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and GL clearing
  • Weekly labour report preparation for review with Finance operations team
  • Building and maintaining the Tomato production yield model in SAP SAC. Delivery to Commercial team quarterly and/or on ad hoc basis.
  • Participate and support in business system upgrades
  • Management of GR/IR and follow up with sites on outstanding invoices and approval from local team before clearing/processing of write-offs
  • Support the Operations Finance Manager in preparing financial reports, analysis and executive presentations
  • Support the company’s values and principles.
  • Responsibility for supporting and complying with the client’s Health and Safety Policy including the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace for the protection of all employees.
  • Work in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company, as amended from time to time.
  • Report immediately any hazards, incidents, or near misses.
  • Perform only those procedures or tasks for which he/she has received appropriate training and instructions.

    Qualifications
  • Relevant degree as a minimum.
  • PICPA or ICA membership.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles and practices (preferably with exposure to

    Australian accounting standards – AASB, GST, BAS)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, suitable for remote collaboration
  • Technologically proficient with remote work tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams)
  • Experience in a financial role in a Australian based multi-disciplined organization
  • Sound technical skills in financial reporting, internal control, budget development
  • Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/intermediate to advanced
  • Strong attention to detail with sound analytical and numerical skills
  • Well-organised and capable of meeting deadlines across time zones
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • High level of initiative
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working with remote teams and in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous exposure to people management
  • SAP experience preferred
